19 Aug 08 Finished Front Spar

I just worked an hour tonight after I got home from work. I finished the front spar rivets, and riveted on the two ribs required in the next steps. All in all this process went very smoothly, and quickly. I did manage to start to rivet one of the center holes on the middle rib forgetting to cleco in the front rib. I got about 1/16″ of the way down on the rivet when I thought to myself something wasn’t quite right, and that rivet looked a little too long. No biggie.

I didn’t want to work too long tonight, but i figured i’d go ahead with the next few steps on the skin, getting things setup for riveting. I’ll wait to rivet these for when i have a few hours, and someone to help buck. I know it will be my first bucking – rivet gun use since I made the practice project, so I’m gonna want to go slow.
